  • IN SUPPORT OF COMMUNITY HOSPITALS

  • We were privileged on Friday 18th January to host a visit to Ludlow Hospital by The High Sheriff of Shropshire, Rhoderick Swire DL.   A chance meeting when he expressed a wish to see the work of The League of Friends enabled us to put together a formal and comprehensive visit when he could meet with The League Committee to see all the purchases we had made in recent years and to meet also the wonderful NHS staff.

  • The x-ray equipment at Ludlow Hospital has been renewed at a cost of £158,000, donated by The Hospital League of Friends. The new installation was agreed by The League after the Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust authorised and completed extensive modernisation of the building which housed the department.

  • The League has joined forces with the Ludlow Assembly Rooms to provide a monthly programme of films specially selected for people living with dementia, memory loss and learning difficulties.

  • We are now over half way through the Future Fit public consultation period when for once there is a golden opportunity for everyone to express their views on the long-term plans for healthcare in Shropshire.
